ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR - FEED PRODUCTION (10001354)

Short Description

The position is responsible to oversee the feeding program of the entire herd and must achieve all nutritional aspects of the dairy operation including ingredient evaluation, ration formulation, bunk management and maximizing dry matter intake.
 

Long Description

Assists in driving the performance of the feed unit and ensures the feed requirements are fulfilled.
Assists in the mixing and feed of all animals in the herd and strictly complies with the feed mixing proportions.
Optimizes feeding/ration performance in accordance with Company policy.
Ensures the correct rations and feeding schedule is accomplished for all herds each day, each feeding.
Ensures feeding at correct times and volumes.
Ensures data entry that relates to the Feed Unit team which includes all pen rations, feed inventories, and global factors.
Identifies and reports hazard/danger, accidents, near misses, and property damage at the workplace.
Adheres to all relevant animal welfare codes.
Works closely with other Unit Managers to ensure smooth operation of the farm.
Ensures all relevant company policies are understood and adhered to.
Works within best practice environmental guidelines.
Supervises all day-to-day activity of the Feed Unit employees and staff.
Ensures new Feed Unit staff are properly inducted and aware of company policies and are given role clarity.
